The accident took place at Kuttivettam between Karunagapally and Chavara on the National Highway at around 3 pm yesterday. The car sped off into a pickup van parked in front of a restaurant in the bushes.
The car in which the doctor and his family were traveling was involved in an accident at a private hospital in Karunagapally. The doctor has only a minor injury. The initial conclusion is that the accident may have been caused by the vehicle going out of control or the driver falling asleep.
The driver got out after the pickup van was stopped, thus avoiding a major accident. The scooter passenger, who arrived a few seconds before the accident, also escaped with a head injury.

Palakkad: The body of a woman was found in Pattambi Bharathapuzha. The woman’s body was found on the west side of the Pattambi bridge around 11 am on Monday. According to information obtained from a nearby ID card, the body is believed to be that of Haritha, a native of Peramangalam, Thrissur.

An eight-month-old baby died when the wire of a pedestal fan got stuck in his neck in Panur, Kannur. Devang, son of Parengat Samaj and Sisira of Palatha, died on the spot. The incident took place on Sunday morning.
