Accident with Metrobús leaves 10 injured

A private truck that, according to the first reports, had ignored the red light, hit a unit of the Metrobus at the intersection of Petén and Avenida Xola streets, in the Narvarte neighborhood, Benito Juárez mayor’s office, Mexico City.

The vehicular incident caused traffic to be closed in the area to allow emergency services to arrive and operate.

At least 10 people were injuredaccording to the preliminary report. To care for those affected, five ambulances and 14 paramedics arrived at the scene, who carried out the first assessments at the site.

Although most of the injured have minor injuries, one of the people is expected to be transferred to a hospital to rule out fractures or other complications.

In the area of ​​the accident, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) supervised the relief operation and proceeded to begin investigations to determine the responsibility of those involved.

The affected area corresponds to the route of Metrobús Line 2, which connects Tepalcates with Tacubaya, one of the busiest corridors in the city.

The authorities will continue to collect evidence and collect statements to clarify the circumstances that caused the crash and define possible sanctions.
