Accident with runaway truck leaves 5 injured in RJ

An accident involving a runaway truck left at least five injured in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio, this Friday (17).

Two victims were taken in serious condition to Azevedo Lima Hospital, according to the Fire Department. Three others received care at the scene and were released.

Niterói City Hall said that, at 10:15 am, the vehicle carrying rubble lost its brakes and crashed into a pole on the São Boaventura avenue.

Before the crash, the truck hit two others, plus a motorcycle, seven cars and a bus as well.
