jpnn.comBOYOLALI – Dwi Fajar Nirwana has decided to relinquish his membership in the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) after being selected to accompany Agus Irawan in the 2024 Boyolali Pilkada.
Bringing a group of hundreds of people, Dwi visited the Boyolali PDIP DPC office to submit his membership card and letter of resignation, Wednesday (14/8).
“Today I resign from my membership of the Boyolali PDI Perjuangan DPC, a member of the Boyolali PDI Perjuangan DPC faction, and an elected candidate for the Boyolali DPRD for the 2024-2029 period,” Dwi told reporters.
Agus is the younger brother of President Jokowi’s personal secretary, Devid Agus Yunanto. He has received a letter of recommendation from the Gerindra Party.
Dwi said his resignation as a PDIP cadre was proof that he was serious about running for regional election with Agus Irawan.
After submitting his resignation letter, Dwi was greeted by his supporters who came in two large buses totaling more than 100.
Apart from Dwi, several other PDIP cadres also resigned, following Dwi’s steps.
Dwi believes that the steps he took were a joint commitment with Agus to bring change to the Boyolali community.
