Uber Eats is actively seeking Account Representatives to bolster its platform with a wider selection of local and regional restaurants. The company is prioritizing individuals with a proven track record in sales, a deep understanding of local culinary scenes, and a passion for both food and the Uber ecosystem.
According to a company release, these representatives will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to securing partnerships with key restaurants. Success in the role will be directly tied to exceeding monthly sales quotas and consistently building a robust sales pipeline through diligent tracking of key metrics like cold calls, emails, and in-person appointments.
The Role: A Blend of Sales Acumen and Restaurant Advocacy
The position demands a proactive individual capable of owning and managing a pipeline of small and medium-sized restaurants within a defined geographic region. A significant portion of the role – approximately 70% – will involve direct communication via phone, with the remaining 30% dedicated to in-person meetings. Representatives are expected to make at least 50 cold calls daily.
“We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone and build relationships,” a senior official stated. “The ideal candidate will be a true ambassador for Uber Eats, clearly articulating the value proposition to potential partners.”
Beyond initial outreach, the role encompasses contract negotiation, ensuring mutually beneficial economic terms for both Uber Eats and its restaurant partners. Representatives will also collaborate with the Account Management team to streamline the onboarding process for new restaurants and contribute to the development of standardized procedures.
Qualifications and Compensation
The company is seeking candidates with at least one year of professional sales experience, or those with a Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated sales aptitude through internships or other experiences. Preferred qualifications include full-cycle sales experience and proficiency in Salesforce and Google Suite.
Key attributes include strong communication skills, a collaborative spirit, resilience in the face of rejection, and a genuine curiosity to learn.
