Accra: Start of the 45th ordinary session of the AU Executive Council with the participation of Morocco

Morocco is represented at this session by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita.

The Moroccan delegation is composed in particular of the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the AU and the UNECA, Mr. Mohamed Arrouchi, the Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamed Methqal, the Ambassador of Morocco to Ghana, Ms. Imane Ouaadil, and the Director of the Greater Maghreb, UMA and AU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Mr. Hassane Boukili.

During this session, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the AU member countries will examine several reports including that of the 48th ordinary session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) and the report of the activities of the AU theme for the year 2024 “Educating an Africa fit for the 21st century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, qualitative, lifelong and relevant learning for Africa”.

Several themes will also be discussed, including the AU’s participation in the G20 and the African Union’s partnerships. The Executive Council is also expected to adopt the AU budget for the year 2025.

Morocco’s participation in this session will be an opportunity to promote Moroccan candidacies to important bodies of the pan-African organization.
