Chennai: The Reserve Bank of India has granted approval to the Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank to engage in government sector business.

In this regard, a press release issued by the Managing Director of Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank, S. Krishnan:

Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank is a private bank headquartered in Tuticorin. After listing its shares in the stock exchanges, the country is engaged in expansion activities.

Reserve Bank of India has authorized Tamil Nadu Mercantile Bank as an agent bank to handle government sector business activities.

This is communicated to all the stakeholders of the bank.

For more than a hundred years, it has not only been providing excellent customer service, but has also been a profitable bank.

A total of 509 branches and 12 regional offices are functioning across the country in 16 states and four union territories.
