Former national player Max Kruse has addressed his fans on Instagram – with a serious topic. The long-time Bundesliga player is making serious allegations.

Even after the end of his career as a professional footballer, Max Kruse remains present in public, stays in touch with his fans and followers via social media, is a guest on talk shows – and from October onwards can be seen in the reality format “Celebrity Big Brother”.

But now the 36-year-old has come forward with a disturbing message – and is making serious accusations against the Berlin police: “On Tuesday my wife was once again involved in a police check, which ended badly again with physical violence towards my wife, racist insults against my wife and abuse of office,” Kruse reports of his wife Dilara’s experience and continues: “They said, ‘We are the police, there’s nothing you can do anyway.'”

Kruse goes into further detail and explains the officers’ misconduct: “Just speaking to my wife and saying to her ‘Is that your car?’ is already a failure, and then to say: ‘What must you have done to be able to afford a car like that?’ – I think you can sort that out for yourself,” he says to his followers. “For me, that is clear racism.”

When his wife started filming herself “for her own protection,” “her cell phone was ripped out of her hand, her bag was taken. A photo was taken of her credit card – no idea what the police want with it.”

She then said: “At least give me my cell phone so I can call my lawyer or my husband.” The officers replied: “Who? Ahmed?” Kruse’s wife replied: “‘No, Max Kruse.’ Then the officers calmed down a bit.”

It was not the first unpleasant experience with the police, “but the first time I would say: That was way below the belt.” Kruse announces legal action: “I’ll tell you one thing: We can do something – and we will now. We have now hired a lawyer and have sued these people under Section 24.”

It is “sad that you have to experience something like this from the police in Germany.” But Kruse added: “We all know: not everyone is like that, it was just this one episode.”

The Berlin police have already responded to a request from t-online: “The Berlin police are aware of a case from September 10, 2024 that matches the case you have asked about. Investigations have been initiated that concern a woman and police officers. I ask for your understanding that we cannot comment further on this due to ongoing investigations. Furthermore, for reasons of personal rights and data protection, we cannot provide any information on individual personal details.”
