She communicated in the wake of World Rugby’s decision on the Bongi Mbonambi file Thursday morning. “Abuse, whatever it may be, is not acceptable and goes against the fundamental values of rugby,” the press release concludes. “It is important that it is safe and acceptable for everyone involved in rugby union to be able to raise concerns, and the RFU continues to encourage everyone to report any unacceptable behavior in the game.”
In its decision communicated Thursday morning, the international federation declared Bongi Mbonambi innocent, due to lack of evidence. “World Rugby further acknowledges that Tom Curry made the allegations in good faith and that there is no suggestion that these allegations are deliberately false or malicious,” the body underlines. The Springbok hooker, the only specialist in the position in the South Africa squad, will start on Saturday evening for the final at the Stade de France against New Zealand.
