Among the evidence presented by the Prosecutor’s Office is the defendant’s confession of his participation in the double homicide and the reasons why he did it.
The First Peace Court of Sensuntepeque sent José Vicente Barrera Escalante to prison while the judicial process continues in which he is accused of the murder of two men.
The crime was committed on October 24 inside a vehicle, on the detour to the El Dormilón hamlet, Los Llanitos canton, municipality of Sensuntepeque, department of Cabañas.
However, the bodies of the victims, a lawyer and a university student, were found inside the car one day after the crime. Both bodies had gunshot wounds to the head.
The victims were identified as Kevin Omar Novoa and Luis Gilberto González.
“The judge ordered the investigation of the process with the most burdensome measure, which is the provisional detention against the now accused for having sufficient evidence to be able to positively presume the existence of the crime and the criminal participation of the accused,” said the prosecutor of the case in a video published on the social networks of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

According to preliminary information from the Police, both victims were in a romantic relationship and due to González’s constant infidelities, Novoa hired Barrera Escalante to kill him, but to avoid going to jail he asked him to also kill him.
