jpnn.comACEH – The Aceh Regional Office (Kanwil) of Customs and Excise held a destruction of illegal cigarettes on Wednesday (3/7).

The total number of items destroyed this time was 5,910,000 illegal cigarettes.

The destruction was carried out in two places, namely symbolically carried out in the Aceh Customs Office environment, then continued at PT Solusi Bangun Andalas, Lhoknga by burning. K

Head of Aceh Customs and Excise Office, Safuadi, said that the illegal cigarettes that were destroyed were the result of actions taken by the Aceh Customs and Excise Office, the Riau Islands Special Customs and Excise Office, and the BC 30002 Patrol Team Unit in the Northern Waters of Kuala Cangkoi, Aceh on May 18, 2024.

“We carried out prevention against the means of transport, in the form of the KM Indah Dua Ship GT 45 QQb No.172 which was transporting 591 cartons of illegal cigarettes without excise stamps,” said Safuadi in his official statement, Thursday (4/7).

During the action, Safuadi continued, his party also arrested four people who had been named as suspects, namely with the initials IB, IL, MR, and AP.

“Currently the four suspects are being held in Class II A Lhokseumawe Prison,” he said.

Safuadi further said that the destruction of 5.91 million illegal cigarettes was carried out as a follow-up to the handling of the case, after obtaining approval from the Chairman of the Lhoksukon District Court on June 13, 2024.

The Aceh Customs and Excise Office destroyed 5.91 illegal cigarettes as a result of an action on May 18, 2024.
