KUTACANE, Waspada.co.id – Four-kilometer rafting race at the 21st PON Aceh-North Sumatra 2024 event, Aceh’s male athletes won a gold medal. The race was held at the Alas River, Ketambe, Southeast Aceh, Thursday (12/9).
From the monitoring, the Rafting competition in the men’s team number, Aceh’s male athletes were able to outperform athletes representing other provinces. Six of the seven provincial athlete representatives had to admit the superiority of Aceh’s Male Rafting athletes.
Here are the time achievement records;
1. Aceh, time achieved, 00:20:45.05 seconds. (Rank 1, gold medal)
2. North Sumatra, time achieved, 00:20:58.97 seconds. (Rank 2, silver medal)
3. South Kalimantan, time achieved, 00:21:12.10 seconds. (Rank 3, bronze medal)
4. West Sumatra, time achieved, 00:21:38.60 seconds. (Rank 4)
5. South Sumatra, time achieved, 00:22:11.37 seconds. (Rank 5)
6. Jambi, time achieved, 00:22:25.63 seconds. (Rank 6)
7. East Kalimantan, time achieved, 00:22:27.20 seconds. (Rank 7).
For information, the Rafting competition, Down River Race (DRR) team category, was delayed for approximately five hours. The race scheduled for 10:00 WIB, started at 15:00 WIB.
According to the Race Director of the race, Joni Kurniawan, the postponement of the race schedule that had been set was due to the high water level exceeding the normal limit.
“Because the water level scale reached 85 cm. While the normal limit for athlete safety, must be below 45 cm,” he explained. (wol/sur/d1)
