Acharya: Even the recently released Beast film starring Vijay has garnered rave reviews despite receiving bad reviews. But Acharya’s film has become an utter flop.
Rajamavuli directed film R.R.R. The film is based on the lives of freedom fighters Sitaramaraj and Komaram Beem and stars Ramcharan and Jr. as NDR heroes. Released last March, the film grossed over Rs 1,100 crore at the box office.
Following the success of the RRR film, the market for actors Ramcharan and Jr. NDR also skyrocketed. As a result, there is a lot of anticipation for new films in India. Within a month of the release of RRR, Ramcharan co-starred with his father Chiranjeevi in the film Acharya.
Pooja Hegde co-starred with Ramcharan in the film, which was directed by Koratla Siva, a leading Telugu director. Kajal Agarwal, who also starred opposite Chiranjeevi, was controversially removed from the film last time. Famous Hindi actor Sonu Sood played the villain.
The film was highly anticipated as it was a film starring RRR Man. But that expectation is all but false in this film. The film has been a death knell at the box office because it is so bad. The film grossed Rs 53 crore on the first day alone and only Rs 17 crore in the next two days.
