The Minister of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked, signed an order to include Havatzelet Hasharon in the jurisdiction of Netanya; Fairberg: “A great decision that paves the way for the establishment of our new northern neighborhood”
The long-running struggle of the mayor, Miriam Feierberg-Icher, has recently been an achievement. The Minister of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked, signed an order and a map to change the borders between Emek Hefer and Netanya.
In doing so, the Minister of the Interior approved the recommendation of the Boundaries Committee established by the Ministry of the Interior, at the initiative of the Mayor, to examine the boundaries of Netanya and the surrounding rural communities.
According to the order, 570 dunams will be transferred from the Emek Hefer Regional Council in the Havatzelet Hasharon area to the jurisdiction of Netanya. In doing so, Minister Shaked accepted the municipality’s position, according to which the plan approved for the complex is in an urban fabric. Therefore cannot belong to the Hefer Valley whose planning fabric is rural.
An area of an urban character is expected to be built on the area, which will include about 3,300 housing units. Of these, 2,800 housing units and 500 units for sheltered housing. In addition – 100,000 dunams were allocated in the above area for employment and trade.
At the center of the plan is a new connection of Netanya to the coastal road via the Havatzelet interchange. An interchange to be built in parallel with the establishment of the new neighborhood.
As is well known, in the past the mayor went out to a struggle that she defined as a “national struggle.” The struggle is intended to regulate the use of land in the settlements of the Sharon. This is in comparison with the large cities of the Sharon and the revenues of the cities respectively.
Fairberg came out against the heads of the settlements, which she said were 10 times more populous than Netanya and their residents, as the number of one neighborhood in the city that began to harm the “destructive form” of the economy of the major cities in the Sharon region. This is done while operating and establishing employment areas on areas designated for agriculture. Also the establishment of luxury housing that attracted to them a population with means.
The mayor, commented on the decision and the success of the struggle. “This is an excellent decision and a great success for the process of changing the boundaries of NAP 1071 (Havatzelet). The emphasis is on good connections of the new neighborhood. “Both for the Havatzelet interchange, which will be transferred in its entirety to the jurisdiction of Netanya, and to the connections of NAP 1010, which borders west of the interfaces with Shoshanat HaEmakim. This is a great decision that paves the way for the establishment of our new northern neighborhood.”
