Acne Amsterdam launches campaign for young adults with cancer

by time news

The life of the AYA (Adolescents and Young Adults) is often in high gear the moment they become ill: a first job, home, relationship or child. A cancer diagnosis puts a thick line through many of those plans. The world keeps spinning while they are only busy with one thing: getting better and being able to look ahead as quickly as possible. But despite the fact that 80 percent survive the disease, they often stop unintentionally even after healing.

In the Unpause the AYA campaign, young adults literally stand as a living statue with every peer who, like them, has or has had to deal with cancer. The PR stunt was previously picked up by Hart van Nederland, NOSop3, RTL Nieuws, AD.nl and various regional media.

The stories of AYA’s Renee, Niek and Anne can be heard and make clear the impact of cancer on the lives of young adults. This immediately reflects the need for age-specific care. Donations to the AYA Jong & Kanker Foundation make it possible to realize projects aimed at training healthcare workers, scientific research and reintegration of the AYA into social and societal life. The campaign film can be seen here.

The campaign was fully sponsored thanks to the efforts of Acne Amsterdam, Bruut Amsterdam, Koolhoven & Partners, Mark Bolk, René van Broekhoven, Unloc, Vincent Karremans, Wim Vonk Asound-idea, Radiocorp, Centercom, the AYA Jong & Kanker Foundation and of course in particular AYA’s Renee, Niek & Anne.
