The Colombian political scene is shaken by accusations of corruption that have led the Colombian Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Acopi) to take a strong stance.
The complaints point to alleged irregularities in the National Risk Management Unit, where it is stated that millionaire funds were diverted to senior congressional officials.
Rodolfo Correa, National Executive President of Acopi, announced that he will call an extraordinary meeting of the union to unanimously demand the suspension of the legislative process of the reforms promoted by the Government in Congress. Correa expressed his concern about the ethical and legal implications of these accusations, pointing out that it is unacceptable that reforms of such magnitude could be clouded by the shadow of corruption.

President Gustavo Petro also spoke out on the matter from his social networks, raising questions about the transparency of the legislative process and the possible influence of corrupt interests in political decisions.
Correa highlighted the importance of legislative reforms, especially those related to health, pensions and work, being carried out in a transparent manner and respecting the law, since these have a direct impact on the business sector.
The extraordinary meeting of Acopi is scheduled for this afternoon, where it is expected that a firm and unanimous position will be issued regarding these scandals that have generated indignation in Colombian society. In Correa’s words, the fight against corruption must be a priority for any government, and it is time to demonstrate consistency with this fundamental principle.
