The public prosecutor stated that, given the untreated psychosis and deplorable conditions, a catastrophe was bound to occur. During dinner, he remarked that “Jesus had kissed his eyes” and insulted his mother, calling her a whore. He also spat out the food his father had cooked, believing it was poisoned. Subsequently, he left the house.
He harbored a desire for retribution, vowing to shoot his parents. He left the house again and questioned his grandmother, inquiring if she had anything to confess. Initially, his mother and sister attempted to flee in the car, but they ultimately decided to barricade themselves in the basement. When the 25-year-old returned upstairs, he found his father speaking with his grandfather on the phone before being shot. Throughout the day, they had spent time chopping wood together.
The public prosecutor inferred that the accused felt insulted and threatened by his parents. The shooting was not a spontaneous act. He felt humiliated and betrayed by his family.
Prior to the shooting, the accused smiled and nodded at his father. He then suddenly shot his father. With timely medical attention, the first shot and subsequent injury would not have been fatal. The second shot resembled an execution rather than a relief. Life-saving measures could have saved the father, but he sustained severe damage. Paramedics arriving at the scene could only confirm his death.
