jpnn.comSEMARANG – The 21st Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) 2024 is still ongoing.

Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana is optimistic that Central Java Province’s ranking at this year’s PON will increase.

As of Friday, September 13, 2024 afternoon, Central Java is in 6th place, with 19 gold, 23 silver, and 45 bronze medals.

“Alhamdulillah, currently Central Java is ranked sixth, below the host, North Sumatra and Aceh,” said Nana at his office, Friday (13/9).

Nana said that this national-level sporting event was indeed a gamble for athletes in each province to show their mettle.

“The competition is quite tight, this competition is really tight,” he said.

Nana also continues to encourage the athletes who are still competing to improve their medal rankings.

“We remain confident and continue to instill the fighting spirit in all Central Java athletes,” he said.
