University of Economics – Varna is the first Bulgarian university in the prestigious Dukenet international network, uniting public and private higher education institutions from over 15 countries in Europe. It also found a place in the prestigious Impact Rankings rating system of Times Higher Education and is the second Bulgarian university in it. For another year, it is in the authoritative ranking of U-Multirank, where it ranked among the best in the international educational space with indicators that received the highest rating: scientific publications and startups created by graduates.

More than 20,000 users are registered in the university’s electronic business collaboration platform UEBN, which supports the career development of students. 70% of students are realized at the time of their graduation, and 85% work in the specialty a year after completing their higher education. The results reflect the purposeful and diligent work of the university to increase the quality of education, expand opportunities for students to participate in mobility programs and further build the network of academic partnerships. The business accelerator UEVA, which supports student start-up businesses and supports the entrepreneurial approach in education, is also now operational. IU – Varna is among the initiators of the creation of the first deep technological valley in Europe – Deep technological innovation port – Varna (VDTIP), and is already an associate partner in the European University INVEST: “INnoVations of REgional Sustainability: European UniversiTy Alliance”, financed under the program “Erasmus +”. 7 higher schools from Slovakia, Finland, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Italy and France participate in it. European universities are transnational alliances of higher education institutions that develop long-term structural and strategic cooperation to achieve an ambitious vision of an innovative, competitive and attractive European space for education and research.

All this identifies IU – Varna as an attractive center for those wishing to receive an internationally recognized and oriented to the modern needs of business educational product. Students define it as an active, enterprising, large, prosperous/successful, progressive university, and the MES accepted the report on the implementation of its development policy and gave the maximum possible annual rating of 4.00 under the management contract of the rector Prof. Dr. Evgeni Stanimirov.

IU – Varna offers training in 27 bachelor’s specialties, and after a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree – in 24 master’s programs, from 4 professional areas: “Economics”, “Administration and Management”, “Tourism” and “Informatics and Computer Sciences”, as well and 13 doctoral programs. The College of Tourism educates students in 2 majors to acquire the OCS “Professional Bachelor”. Bachelor’s and Master’s students can take advantage of their right to join the Erasmus+ mobility program. The university currently has over 220 partners abroad – universities and business organizations. The program gives students the opportunity not only to study abroad, but also to conduct practice in a real environment, to establish contacts with European employers.

For the academic year 2023/24, all places under the state order for the “Bachelor” OCS have been filled. More than 50% of them were employed already at the early admission, and the applicants were significantly more than the quota set by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The second stage for admission to the OCS “master’s” is from 7 until 14.09.2023, and until 31.08. application documents are accepted in the integrated international master’s program Magellan “Intercultural Business” (taught in English). The training takes place in four universities: the University of Economics in Katowice (Poland), the University of Debrecen (Hungary), IU – Varna, CEU Cardinal Herrera University in Valencia (Spain). Thanks to the extremely well-developed platforms for the learning process in an electronic environment, various forms exist in the master’s programs of IU – Varna – regular, combined with online resources; in absentia; distance learning, providing the most suitable conditions for full-time learning and for students who are employed full-time.
