Bheeman Raghu, who came to Malayalam cinema as the successor of Jayan, later became the main villain of Mammootty and Mohanlal. Bheeman Raghu joins BJP while sitting like this. In the 2016 Kerala assembly elections, Bheeman Raghu contested as a BJP candidate against KB Ganesh Kumar and actor Jagadeesh in Pathanapuram. Bheeman Raghu lost in the election which got everyone’s attention due to his star cast and got votes behind the two actors. But Bheeman Raghu revealed in a special interview to Zee Malayalam News that when he contested the election as part of the BJP, he missed out on many opportunities in films.

“The reason for the decrease in films is not because they came to the party. They misrepresented it because they came to the party. One or two films came to me when I came to the party and was working on the election. Two films came including Pulimurakan. I was very sad that I could not work in that film. My constituency is Pathanapuram… Bheeman Raghu told Zee Malayalam News.
