Kochi: Film and drama actor Kainakari Thankaraj (77) passed away here today. He hails from Kollam, Kerala and Velankonam. He has also played notable roles in films such as E.M.Y., Lucifer, Ishq and Home. He entered the acting industry as a theater actor. He quit his job at KSRTC and Coir Board and focused on acting.
He died at his residence in Velankonam, Keralapuram at 1 pm on Sunday. He was undergoing treatment for liver disease.
The first movie was Anappachan starring Prem Nazir. He gained attention by acting as Prem Nazeer’s father. Vavachana, the protagonist of the movie E.M.Yau directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, won the hearts of the audience. She has acted in more than 35 films.
