Los Angeles County Superior Judge Orders Pete Davidson to Complete Diversion Program

Los Angeles, CA – Actor Pete Davidson has been ordered by a Los Angeles County Superior judge to complete an 18-month diversion program after being charged with reckless driving in connection with a car crash in Beverly Hills earlier this year, according to CNN.

As part of the program, Davidson is required to complete 50 hours of community service, which can be done in New York, as stated by a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney (LACDA) on Monday. It has been indicated that Davidson will likely complete the community service at the New York Fire Department, which holds a personal connection for him. His father, Scott, was a New York firefighter who died during the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In addition to the community service, Davidson is also required to complete 12 hours of traffic school, which can be done in New York, and a Hospital and Morgue program or its equivalent in New York. He must also pay restitution and obey all laws, according to LACDA.

The car crash incident occurred on March 4, around 11 pm PT, when Davidson’s vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant and a home on a residential street. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

CNN has reached out to Davidson’s representative for comment.

In June, the LACDA confirmed that Davidson was charged with one misdemeanor count of reckless driving. The LACDA believes that Davidson engaged in reckless driving, which resulted in the collision. They emphasized the potential devastating consequences of reckless driving.

The diversion program will provide Davidson an opportunity to fulfill the requirements set forth by the court and demonstrate his commitment to safe driving practices.
