The film was produced by Vishal on behalf of his Vishal Film Factory. The film is set to release on January 26, just before Republic Day. The film stars Dimple Hayati and Yogi Babu in the lead roles.

It has been announced that Vishal will be starring in a film directed by Adik Ravichandran. The film is being produced by Enemy Filmmaker Vinod Kumar. The film has been announced to be released in 5 languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Earlier, Vishal had said that the shooting of Detective 2 would start in January and end in April.
