Ren Guetta, CEO of the Cameri, eulogized him: “I had the honor and privilege of getting to know Joseph and of course watching him on stage conquer the audience. Awesome actor and a wonderful person. Sad and painful. The Cameri Theater bows its head with respect and appreciation. The funeral service in his memory will be held at the Cameri. “

Gilad Kimhi, the artistic director of the Cameri Theater, added: “With a heavy heart we say goodbye to Yosef Carmon, an actor, one of the greatest Israeli actors. Yossi Carmon played a number of memorable roles on the Cameri stage and was identified with Hanoch Levin’s plays. His marvelous role was the old man in the award-winning and acclaimed play, “Eshkava.” Sadly, this was his last role on stage. Yossi, our beloved, with his unique talent and endless charisma, will remain etched in the hearts of us all forever. “
