Actress and artist Gulya (Alagez) Salakhova died in Baku at the age of 70. The death of the artist was announced by her son Dan Sultanov.
The artist’s son said that she spent the last six months in the hospital, but the treatment did not help. He noted that people like his mother “are sent to Earth so that someone understands something, maybe becomes kinder.”
“Some people understood who was in front of him, but others didn’t,” added Sultanov. “These others were unlucky. And me.”
Alagez Salakhova was born in Moscow in the family of a painter, People’s Artist of the USSR Tair Salakhov. The artist’s grandmother was the Uzbek actress and singer, People’s Artist of the USSR Tamara Khanum. Salakhova made her screen debut in 1978 in the drama “Dante’s Jubilee”.
The actress became the second wife of People’s Artist Konstantin Raikin, the son of People’s Artist of the USSR Arkady Raikin.
The actress died on September 19. According to Azerbaijani media, the farewell ceremony took place on September 21 at the Tezepir Mosque in Baku, and the artist was buried at the Yasamal cemetery.
