Aruna was a leading actress in Tamil cinema in the 1980s. Moisture in the stone made its debut in the film. He has also acted in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. After marriage, he cut down on acting in films and left cinema at some point. Aruna has been appearing on TV shows recently.
