Dileep’s plea to quash further probe in actress’ assault case The Crime Branch sought three more months in the High Court to complete the investigation and submit the final report. The prosecution sought a delay in writing.
The details, including the follow-up investigation plan and documents, were handed over by the Crime Branch in a sealed envelope. The prosecution said that the investigating officer Baiju Paulus did not know Balachandra Kumar and was a natural witness.
Balachandrakumar was not one to come up with a sudden complaint. The court noted that a complaint was lodged with the Chief Minister a month ago to lodge a complaint with the police and disclose to the media. The court also asked what was the impediment to the investigation.
Dileep said there were no serious revelations to charge the conspiracy case. Dileep alleged that further investigation was needed to avoid the flaws in the first case. The court retorted that if the murder conspiracy was a fabricated story, could it not have presented a flawless story? Survivor asked why he was opposed to further investigation if he was fully convinced that the allegation was false. They called for an investigation and for the truth to come out.
Attacking the actress: The trial may be extended
The trial of the case against the actress may be extended for another six months. This is while the Crime Branch is conducting further investigations. The trial court had asked that the probe be completed by March 1. The trial will be extended on the basis of its report. The trial court may approach the Supreme Court for this.
Based on the revelations of director Balachandra Kumar, the prosecution demanded further investigation. The crime branch had registered a case against six persons, including actor Dileep, brother Anoop and brother-in-law Suraj, for conspiring to endanger the investigating officers. All three were questioned. The High Court had also handed over the inspection reports of six mobile phones submitted by Dileep and his team to the court.
