Actress Vijayalakshmi, who starred in a few films including ‘Friends’ starring Vijay and Surya, has been arrested in connection with the suicide of a prominent politician.
Actress Vijayalakshmi attempted suicide in 2020. While the case was being investigated by the Thiruvanmiyur police, Vijayalakshmi testified that Seeman, the co-ordinator of the Naam Tamil Party, Harinadar, the co-ordinator of the Panangaddu Pada Party, and some others had threatened to kill themselves.
Police have registered a case and arrested Hari Nadar. He is already lodged in the Agrahara Jail in Bangalore on a charge of money laundering. It is noteworthy that Vijayalakshmi has been arrested after the Thiruvanmiyur police wrote a letter to the Agrahara Jail in Bangalore seeking permission to arrest Harinadar in the suicide case.
It remains to be seen whether more people will be arrested in this case.
