The Navarrese health insurance company will sponsor the youth teams and activities and the club will soon announce a new brand that will accompany it in the LEB Oro
Acunsa will no longer accompany Gipuzkoa Basket in the name of the LEB Oro team, although the Navarrese health insurance company will continue to be one of the main and most important sponsors of the club by redirecting itself to the academy activities that the San Sebastian entity has put underway in recent months.
The statement published this Monday by Gipuzkoa Basket defines the movement as a “reorientation in Acunsa’s involvement with the club” and announces that “it will support academy basketball and Gipuzkoa Basket’s strategic commitment in the agreement with Easo and the sponsorships techniques that the club has signed to promote the base of basketball. In this way, Gipuzkoa Basket Easo, an EBA team, will wear Acunsa’s sponsorship on its shirt.
Gipuzkoa Basket is not an orphan in the official name that it will carry in the LEB Oro and the club will soon announce the new brand that will replace Acunsa in sponsoring the naming.
Acunsa became a sponsor of Gipuzkoa Basket in August 2020, the summer in which Ignacio Núñez’s club was preparing to return to the ACB. The signed agreement consisted of a relationship of being the name of the team for three years, although the president already announced in June that there could be changes in this aspect.
