The singer Dorit Reuveni accompanies the world of Israeli music since her service in the Central Command Band until today, with hits such as: ‘Adam Zuber Zikaronut’, ‘Hayom Hayom’, and ‘The Man from the Valley’. On the occasion of her 70th birthday this week, Reuveni organized an hour of nostalgic music in our honor with all her favorite songs.
Reuveni began her musical career in the 1970s when she joined the Central Command band, and in 1973 she released her first album ‘Bird in the Rain’, which was composed by Moni Amarilio. Later in the decade, she released additional albums that included joint performances with Dodo Zakai for the songs ‘Nights’ and ‘Hayom Hayom’.
In 1987, her fourth album called ‘Changes’ was released and included classics such as ‘Adam Accumulates Memories’, ‘Take Everything God Gives’ and ‘The End’. Her next album ‘House at the Edge of the Rainbow’ was released in 1993 and included a mix of reworked past hits along with new songs.
During her career, Reuveni emphasized the importance of Ladino for her, which was the mother tongue of her parents, and in 2000 she released her special album ‘Ladino’ which included songs in this language. In 2013, she released a compilation album called ‘Adam Zuber Zikronon – The Triple Collection’ and includes many hits of all time, including ‘The Man from the Bekaa’, ‘Hayom Hayom’, ‘Rabet Ha’emek’ and also songs by Ladino.

As part of the project ‘Artists Edit Shabbat Hebrew’, Reuveni compiled some of her favorite songs – from then until today. In her edit, you can find, among other things, ‘Ahavat Noorei’ by Shalom Hanoch, ‘Anything you want’ by Shlomo Artzi, and also ‘If Ella Ha’im’ by Keren Pels and ‘Give me a chance’ by the What’s Up Trio.
Today (Friday) Dorit Reuvani will celebrate 70 in a festive show at the Gray Club in Tel Aviv.
