Adam Driver Addresses “Star Wars” Complaints in “SNL” Monologue

In a recent episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Adam Driver addressed the relentless “Star Wars” complaints he has faced over the years.

The actor, who played the villain Kylo Ren in the “Star Wars” films, performed his monologue while playing the piano and reciting a letter of Christmas wishes to Santa. He took the opportunity to address the criticisms he has received from fans about his character’s storyline, particularly the controversial moment when Kylo Ren kills Han Solo in “The Force Awakens.”

Driver joked, “I would like people to stop coming up to me on the street saying, ‘You killed Han Solo!’ I didn’t kill him. Wokeness killed Han Solo.”

The episode marked Driver’s fourth time as the host of “Saturday Night Live,” with musical guest Olivia Rodrigo. His monologue touched on various topics, including his Christmas list, which humorously included requests for five pairs of chinos, a giant metal Tesla truck, and a gingerbread house.

Despite the ongoing “Star Wars” complaints, Driver is set to appear in the upcoming film “Ferrari,” in which he will play motor racing driver and businessman Enzo Ferrari. The biographical film, directed by Michael Mann, also stars Penélope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, Sarah Gadon, Gabriel Leone, Jack O’Connell, and Patrick Dempsey.

The latest season of “Saturday Night Live” has seen a host of guest hosts and musical acts, including Jason Momoa, Pete Davidson, Nate Bargatze, Timothée Chalamet, Tate McRae, Ice Spice, Foo Fighters, Boygenius, and Bad Bunny.

Adam Driver’s monologue provided a humorous take on his “Star Wars” frustrations while also showcasing his talent for comedy and performance.
