Sad news for the world of film and TV: Adan Canto has died at the age of 42 . The renowned Mexican actor, who rose from a singer in his homeland to a popular Hollywood star whose roles included a role in ‘Designated Survivor’, he has died of appendix cancera disease that has led to absolute privacy.
His death was revealed by Deadline on Tuesday, which also reported that his last known role was in the drama series ‘The Cleaning Lady’ from Fox.
Representatives for Adan, who is married and a father of two, told the media: “Adan had a depth of spirit that few really knew. Those who caught a glimpse of it were forever changed. Many of us will miss it very much”. What a shame…
Adan played the character for the first two seasons. While his health prevented him from filming when production on season 3 began in December, following the end of the actors’ and writers’ strikes of Hollywood, was said to be planning to rejoin the cast later in the season. But it couldn’t be.
It is understood the series will pay tribute to its star in the Season 3 premiere.

Born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico in 1981 and raised in Texas, Adam left home at age 16 to pursue a career as a singer and guitarist in Mexico City.
He began with roles in commercials and local TV shows before being cast in a major role in Kevin Williamson’s 2013 Fox drama ‘The Following’.
In ‘Designated Survivor’, he played US Vice President-elect Aaron Shore with Kiefer Sutherland, 57, for three seasons.
He also starred in ‘Narcos’ as real-life politician Rodrigo Lara Bonilla.
For the past two years, Adam starred with Élodie Yung, 42, in ‘The Cleaning Lady’, playing gangster Armand Morales.
His film roles included roles as Sunspot in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ and a role in ‘2 Hearts’, along with a role in Halle Berry’s directorial debut ‘Bruised’, which is very affected by the death of the actor.
Halle Berry wanted to share some words on social networks after learning of the death. “I don’t have the words yet…but my dear sweet friend Adam just earned his wings. Forever, forever in my heart.”
