rebuff for the queen…

Apparently Adele (34) can afford it: With her hits like “Rolling in the Deep” she made millions, grew into a pop diva and appears on the biggest stages in the world. Apparently even the seat of the British crown, Buckingham Palace, is no longer in her bag.

For the Queen’s platinum anniversary celebration earlier this month, the singer was asked to perform in front of the palace. But Adele canceled!

The platinum party was a big show as part of the Queen’s celebrations. Numerous international superstars performed at the celebration, including the band Queen, Rod Stewart (77) and Alicia Keys (41).

The concert planners seemed keen to ensure that Adele performed. After all: Adele received an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 2013 – an order from the Queen for her services to music.

A source told the DailyMail: “They were told she couldn’t do it. Scheduling problems or something similar were given as an excuse.”

The source continued, “It caused a lot of astonishment, especially since she was awarded an MBE.” And further, “How often do you get the opportunity to perform for the Queen in front of Buckingham Palace?”

So war die „Platinum Party at the Palace“

On June 4th the big party took place, at which the Queen herself could not be present. Due to mobility problems, she had to miss other dates as part of the anniversary celebrations.

Still, she didn’t stay away from the event entirely. Because at the concert, a pre-recorded sketch of the Queen with the popular Paddington Bear was played, which was also the starting signal for the concert.
