Combating environmental crimes is one of the priorities of the State Government. To this end, the State Environmental Administration (Adema) and the Environmental Police Platoon (PPAmb) plan to effectively reinforce joint activities for the prevention, mitigation and repression of illegal actions that harm the environment. The bodies will also work in an integrated manner to raise society’s awareness so that it understands the importance of caring for and preserving nature.

“Fighting environmental crime is a crucial agenda on the State Government’s agenda. We need to be united with other important environmental agencies, this also includes new plans”, said Adema’s CEO, Deborah Dias.

One of Adema’s important fronts will be the work of instructing and raising awareness among entrepreneurs about the best environmental practices, in addition to demanding environmental regularization, contributing to the state’s environmental improvement.

In addition to preventive work, a fundamental line of action is the repression of environmental violations, which has the partnership of the Environmental Police Squad. The repeated practice of these infractions will be attacked with the necessary response to stop the degradations. This type of action is common against the trafficking of wild animals, for example, and the fight against deforestation.
