| Adidas cancels contract with Russian football team

Munich (Germany): Adidas, the global sports brand, has suspended the contract with the Russian Football Federation following the suspension of Russian national football teams and Russian clubs by FIFA.

The move comes in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Following in the footsteps of FIFA, the European Football Association (UEFA) has banned Russian teams.

Adidas has a long association with the Russian Football Federation. However, BeinSports quoted an adidas spokesperson as saying that adidas was joining the fight against Russia’s occupation of Ukraine.
