DIG/ Libreville Airport has obtained the prestigious ACA 3+ carbon neutrality certificate, thus becoming the first airport in Central Africa and the second in all of Africa to achieve carbon neutrality, the result of several efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
ACA (Airport Carbone Accreditation) is a certification program launched by Airports Council International Europe (ACI Europe) to assess and recognize the efforts of airports in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
ACI EUROPE is a professional association of European industry which defends the collective interests of European airports and promotes professional excellence in the management and operation of airports.
Libreville Airport has participated in the greenhouse gas reduction program since 2015.
Two years before, it had obtained the ACA 2+ certificate, proof of its commitment to a sustainable future.
