Controversy arose when the employees of the Konni taluk office took a group leave and went on a recreational trip to Munnar. Only 21 out of 61 people were in the office today. Many of those who came to the taluk office came back disappointed as the employees took leave and went on recreational trips. Many people needed many documents today.

Only 19 people, including the Tehsildar, had applied for leave when they went on a recreational trip. 21 people did not apply for leave. The MLA had called a meeting today on the instructions of the Revenue Minister. But there was another official program and the Tehsildar had informed the MLA that the meeting had to be postponed.
As news of the mass vacation and recreational trip spread through the media, the local MLA Janish Kumar reached the taluk office. Many people, including disabled people, were present at the taluk office for various purposes. The Deputy Tehsildar arrived and recorded leave for the rest. After the MLA informed the Revenue Minister, a report was sought from the ADM. Based on the report, action may be taken on mass leave.
