ADMK Severes Ties with BJP, Focuses on Alliance Formation for Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections

Chennai: General Secretary Palaniswami made a significant announcement at the ADMK district in-charge meeting, stating that the party had completely severed its ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As a result, the ban on the alliance has been lifted, and there will not be any association with the BJP in future elections.

Palaniswami assured the members present at the meeting that a strong alliance will be formed to ensure victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He urged the attendees to clearly communicate this decision to the people.

The meeting also touched upon the ongoing work in all assembly constituencies to establish various committees and organizations. These include the ‘Booth Committee’, youth bazaara, young women bazaara, and women’s organizations.

In order to effectively supervise these initiatives, district in-charges have been appointed across ADMK’s 82 districts. A consultative meeting was held at the party headquarters in Chennai, during which General Secretary Palaniswami provided various suggestions and guidance.

To prepare for the Lok Sabha elections, booth committees will be established in all polling booths. Each committee will consist of 19 Party Executives, two members from the Information Technology Team, youth, and young women from Basarai.

Furthermore, youth and young women aged between 18 to 25 years will be admitted as members in booth-wise youth and young women markets. Women below the age of 45 will be admitted to the women’s organization. The minimum number of people in these formations should be 25, with the flexibility to include more.

District Secretaries have been directed to appoint individuals who can perform well in various positions such as President, Vice President, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Treasurer.

District in-charges have been assigned to their respective districts, and it is their responsibility to ensure that members of the Booth Committee actually reside in the designated area. If the committee is not yet formed, arrangements should be made for its establishment. Youth and young women leaders should verify the inclusion of club members directly, rather than relying solely on the district secretaries.

A report detailing the progress and any issues should be submitted to the party leadership on a constituency-wise basis by November 6.

Speaking on the impact of severing ties with the BJP, Palaniswami highlighted that their alliance had been an obstacle in the past. He emphasized that there is no alliance with the BJP, not only in the upcoming elections but in any future elections, and urged the attendees to make this clear to the people.

Palaniswami also mentioned that more people belonging to minority groups are now starting to support ADMK. He criticized the DMK for labeling them as slaves and stated that their actions have proved otherwise.

In regard to the prime ministerial candidate, Palaniswami explained that since the India alliance has not announced a candidate, ADMK will not be mentioning a specific candidate either. The focus will be on strengthening the party system and winning the elections. Palaniswami requested the cooperation of all party members in achieving this goal.

In other news, ADMK celebrated its 52nd year inauguration ceremony with great enthusiasm. General Secretary Palaniswami paid tribute to MGR and Jayalalithaa statues, hoisted the party flag, and distributed sweets to the volunteers. The ceremony featured programs highlighting the achievements of ADMK and the government, as well as songs praising Palaniswami. Former Chief Minister Panneerselvam also paid homage to the statue of MGR at Anna Road, accompanied by his supporters.
