The police have arrested an ADMK leader who misrepresented Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan on social media in Velwar. Minister Durai Murugan made a speech in the Tamil Nadu Assembly session last month saying that after his death, it is enough to write that the devotee of Gopalapuratu is sleeping here in the burial pit. Some individuals posted an image of Minister Durai Murugan lying in a grave on social media with certain words and audio attached. Velwar District DMK Secretary, Vanniaraja, filed a complaint with the Katpadi Police to take action against those who spread rumors and caused trouble on social media. The police conducted an investigation and discovered that Arunkumar, ADMK Information Technology Division Pollachi 20th Team Secretary, uploaded the photo on Twitter, misrepresented it, added audio, and uploaded it as a video. During the interrogation conducted by the Gadbadi police, he admitted to wrong uploading. The police then arrested Arunkumar and lodged him in the Velwar Central Men’s Jail. Katpadi police stated that they are taking measures to remove false uploads about Minister Duraimurugan from Facebook.

On the 1st, Vanniaraja, Katpadi North Region DMK Secretary, Velwar District, Katpadi North, filed a complaint with the Katpadi Police to take action against those who spread rumors and caused trouble on social media. The police registered a case and conducted an investigation.

It was revealed that Arunkumar downloaded the photograph of Minister Duraimurugan on Twitter, misrepresented it, attached audio and uploaded it as a video. During the interrogation conducted by the Gadbadi police, he admitted to wrong uploading. After this, the Gadpadi police arrested Arunkumar and lodged him in the Velwar Central Men’s Jail.
Katpadi police said that they are taking steps to remove false uploads about Minister Duraimurugan from the Facebook page.
