Adore’s new CEO, Kim Joo-young, announced that she would focus on reorganizing and stabilizing the organization and that she would also reinvestigate the case of Mr. B, who had complained of sexual harassment and bullying.

According to industry sources on the 2nd, Kim Joo-yeon, the new CEO of Adore, sent an email to Adore employees on the 27th of last month, the day of her appointment, saying, “I will meet with all members in person as often as possible to discuss what is needed for smooth and reasonable work performance, how to improve, etc., and share the progress.” She also emphasized, “The top priority is organizational stabilization.”

CEO Kim said, “In line with HYBE’s label operation principle of separating production and management, Adore will also separate production and management,” and explained, “Min Hee-jin will be stepping down as CEO, but will maintain her position as an inside director at Adore and continue to handle the producing duties of New Jeans.”

Adore, now headed by CEO Kim, plans to reinvestigate allegations that former CEO Min attempted to cover up past sexual harassment incidents within the company, and after uncovering the truth, it plans to devise measures to prevent a recurrence.

Previously, employee B reported executive A for workplace bullying and sexual harassment while working at Adore and resigned. Recently, employee B claimed on her Instagram that former Adore CEO Min Hee-jin “actively claimed that A was innocent when I reported her, and in the process, she insulted me in every way.”

In response, former CEO Min Hee-jin refuted Mr. B’s claims on her social media account, saying, “The case was closed with no charges, and I realized that the root of the problem was a result of accumulated dissatisfaction.”

After that, B posted on his Instagram, “Summary of reactions after my statement was posted △Executive: I’m sorry. 1 long KakaoTalk message △Hive: I’m sorry + DM that I will reinvestigate △Min Hee-jin: You didn’t do your job, are you Hive? 77 KakaoTalk messages + current statement.” However, it has been reported that A withdrew his apology after B’s post.

Meanwhile, Adore announced on the 27th of last month, “We held a board meeting and appointed Adore executive director Kim Joo-young as the new CEO.” “New CEO Kim Joo-young is an HR expert with experience in various industries and will be in charge of stabilizing Adore’s organization and reorganizing its internal affairs.” Adore also said, “Former CEO Min Hee-jin will be stepping down from the CEO position but will retain her position as an Adore executive director,” and “She will also continue to be in charge of producing New Jeans.”

However, former CEO Min’s side countered on the same day, saying, “This dismissal decision is an illegal decision that directly contradicts the shareholder agreement and the injunction prohibiting the exercise of voting rights,” and that it was a unilateral notification that they would put him in charge of producing work. In addition, they released an additional statement on the morning of the 30th of last month, claiming, “The contract period written in the work delegation agreement is only 2 months and 6 days.”

In response, an Adore official argued, “We sent the contract in accordance with the term of Director Min Hee-jin as an inside director,” and “If the term is extended, the contract will have to be renewed at that time. This is something that applies equally to all registered directors.”
