Visibility has always been necessary for any topic because this shows us a reality that is sometimes ignored, an example of this is the film All the Silence. made by Adriana Llabrés and in which she represents Miriam, a woman who is losing her hearing and who has earned her the nomination for Best Actress at the Ariel Awards.
This work was directed by Diego del Rio and It was produced by Luis Salinas, who worked with Llabrés and has managed to create buzz at film festivals such as the one in Morelia.
“It took many years to make All the Silencebecause I am one of the producers. I was there from the beginning and I have been very confronted by what has happened in the last 11 years.
“I confront all this with life, with my work, with persistence, constancy and telling something that was important to me. Likewise, thanks to the project, many things in my view have changed.“, he told this media.
And it is because of his otosclerosis, an abnormal bone growth in the middle ear that causes hearing loss, that he decides to give him the focus on the community dand deaf.
“I have had this condition since I was a child and I have had surgery, but this is progressive. I also wanted to find out more about the deaf community because I had realized that there was not enough focus on them,” she said.
This story also includes a couple LGBTQ+ made by Llabrés and Ludwika Paleta.
“There are things about the deaf community that are important for us to explain because we haven’t seen them before, but having a female couple is the most natural thing.
“We wanted to break down these barriers. The film begins with theatre and cinema to question why these boxes exist. and then others like the LGBTQ+ population join in, because we live in a very diverse world that has always existed.”
In addition to talking about the deaf community that exists in Mexican society, the message is also focused on grief, this emotional process that can be experienced in different situations.
“Todo el Silencio talks about grief, it shows us how fortunate we are to live through experiences and that human beings have that universality, of what we are continually going through,” she added.
Adriana Llabrés nervously awaits the 66th anniversary ceremony Ariel Awards and about his work he considers that his feeling is in accordance with the Projects in which he participates.
“It has been a lot of work, perseverance and definitely also being allied with people that I admire and who are very talented. I feel very happy but there have been super frustrating moments. I always try to be myself, an example of that is All the Silence “which is so personal,” the actress concluded.
