Over 28 years the glass has never been damaged! The re-released ‘Sphatikam’ became a super hit again. Fans and family audiences are flocking to the theaters to watch Aduthoma on the big screen. It is reported that the film has earned over three crores from the first four days in Kerala alone. Although the exact figures have not been released, it is reported that the film’s collection from foreign markets is more than what it earned from Kerala.
Sphatikam 4K was released in 160 screens in Kerala. It has been released in over 100 screens in other states and over 100 screens in 40 countries abroad. Director Bhadran had said that it would cost two crores to upgrade to 4K Dolby Atmos visual experience.
‘Sphathikam’ is also the first Malayalam film to open on its first day in Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda. The film hit the theaters in 1995 and the success of the film is still due to the performances of a handful of actors like Mohanlal, Thilakan, Nedumudi Venu and Urvashi.
