Berlin – The left-wing parliamentary group in the Bundestag has introduced a motion to parliament to legally safeguard the right of first refusal in milieu protection areas. Under the title “Immediately restore municipal right of first refusal in environmental protection areas”, the Federal Government is called upon to “immediately submit a draft law for a legally applicable municipal right of first refusal in environmental protection areas”. The building code is to be changed in such a way that the right of first refusal can also be applied in the future in those cases in which an “intentional use contrary to conservation” can be expected in the future. In plain language: if in the milieu protection areas a displacement of the residents is to be expected.
