Christmas time is a time for donations: planting trees, giving security and warmth, giving energy for the school day with breakfast or helping people help themselves abroad: there are many reasons to donate. With the digital “Advent Calendar of Good Deeds”, the BayWa Foundation focuses specifically on social projects from Munich, Bavaria, Germany, India and Africa during Advent and calls for donations. Every donation is doubled by BayWa AG. Even small amounts make a difference.

24 special fundraising projects away from the big spotlight
Behind the 24 doors of the Advent calendar of good deeds are charitable initiatives suggested by BayWa employees. “It is important to us to give social initiatives worth supporting a stage with our Advent calendar of good deeds. They all make a valuable contribution to the common good that deserves visibility and support,” explains managing director Ellie Zips-Pape.
Christmas: Donations instead of gifts
Chocolate makes you happy and helps even more. And it’s particularly nice to see what can be achieved with your own donation. For example, a tree can be planted for as little as 5 euros, and a child from a low-income family can learn to swim for 50 euros. For 70 euros a woman receives refuge and protection in a women’s shelter for a week and for 180 euros a child in Zambia is provided with one warm meal per school day for a quarter of a year. So how about a good deed as a gift for your loved ones, who often already have everything?
Donations that go double
The special thing about the Advent Calendar of Good Deeds is that BayWa AG doubles every donation. This means that 200 percent of donations reach where they are needed. BayWa AG also covers the foundation’s administrative costs.
Social commitment, not just at Christmas time: About the BayWa Foundation
The BayWa Foundation is BayWa AG’s answer to urgent questions about basic services. Since it was founded 25 years ago, the focus has been on educational projects in the areas of healthy nutrition and renewable energies, but commitment to people in need is also an important concern. Around 100 projects in 12 countries have been successfully implemented so far. The spectrum ranges from environmental and nutrition education for primary school children to the training of young single women in Zambia.
