* Tell us about yourself?

I was born and brought up in Tiruvallikeni, Chennai. BPM I have completed my college studies.

* How did you get interested in motor racing?

Being from a poor family, I used to do newspaper delivery and courier delivery jobs on bicycle since my school days. I ride my bicycle very fast to deliver the newspaper and couriers on time. Bicycle wheels fly on bends as they wear. Thus, the passion for racing was born in me. The ‘speed’ associated with my daily life eventually turned into bike racing.

*How did you get into bike racing?

In 2006, we came to know that there was a bike race at the Irunkattukotta track in Chennai and we went on a bicycle to enjoy it. Even though it is a long cycle ride, the body is not tired at all. Because a raging bike on the track kept me excited all the way back home. That day I decided to take up bike racing. Likewise, I joined bike racing the very next year (2007).

* How did you make your dream come true in one year?

A bike race is not an ordinary thing. A lot of practice is required. Money is also needed. For that, I worked several part-time jobs in the mornings while studying in evening college. After college, I learned the basics of motorbikes at a mechanic shop near home. I also got used to riding a bike. It was only after I gained confidence in myself that I started participating in track bike racing through the ‘One Make’ programme.

* Permanently, when did bike racing begin?

After winning my first competition in 2007, the attention of bike companies turned towards me. Especially TVS. Companies started helping. So I participated in bike racing in subsequent years as well. Since 2012, I have started riding bikes in national championships held at the Indian level. The passion, the dream to achieve in bike racing… chased me. So, starting from 2012 to 2018, I won the National Championship title for 7 consecutive years. I won the championship again after a gap of one year. I have won the championship 10 times so far.

* Have you recorded international success?

Yes..! I have participated in Asian level competitions in countries like Japan and Indonesia. A.R.R.C. The bet is very important. Because there are some of the best motor racers in Asia competing to win the title. Indian players have never won it. In such an environment, I participated and raced in 2015. In that multi-round tournament, I came out on top and won the Indonesia round. Whereas, I took the stage with the Indian flag and made India proud for the first time.

* What is the hardest hit?

A.R.R.C. Winning the race, I consider it a very difficult victory. For this, I took special training in Malaysia. Because overtaking Asia’s top bike champions is not that easy. I had to think a lot for that.

* What is the role of Indians in bike racing?

In Asian level tournaments, Indians are doing well. They are making an impact on the racing field on a par with Asian players. Similarly, A.R.R.C. Ever since winning the race, the perception of Indians has changed. A great welcome is received. Asian champions race in our races in India.

* What advice would you give to young adventurers on the road?

If you have a passion for bike adventure, show it properly at the track. Be safe and be appreciated.

* You participate in bike racing. Was there family support?

I never revealed my bike racing to my family until I won my first race. After winning, we showed the trophies and photo at home. I explained with the photo that I am riding the bike in a safe environment, in a field full of safety features. understood. They allowed me to continue racing.

What is your goal?
