Opinions about Niclas Mattei differ. But the self-proclaimed advertising master declares that he is a millionaire. How can that be?
“It won’t, it won’t make me filthy rich,” says Niclas Mattei, better known as the advertising master, on social media. He shares a shot. A story from RTL can be seen on it: “Niclas Mattei likes to report sinners in traffic on his own – and he becomes extremely rich.”
But the advertising chief does not earn a cent by reporting illegal parking, as he has now angrily announced on Instagram. Anything else would be very unusual. Because Mattei only reports traffic offenders to the police. It’s logical but he can’t make any money with it. Actually, it’s about something completely different. Niclas Mattei was first called an “advertising master” – and he was able to build a business model based on his sudden reach and prominence.
He also explains this on Instagram. “My motivation for taking some camera crews on a speeding ticket trip at that time was to draw attention to the big problem of illegal parking,” he explains of his PR strategy. It was an “unplanned side effect” that “thousands of companies” then wanted to work with him. Since then, his work has involved two areas. One of them, according to Mattei, is the appearances in clubs. The other basically falls into the realm of advertising and merchandising.
At 18, Niclas Mattei is already a self-employed entrepreneur in online marketing: he gets paid for advertising collaborations as well as products he sells on the Internet. It is not known how much salary Mattei receives in detail for his club appearances. It is clear, however, that it has been seen in various places throughout Germany in recent months. Called “the hottest Internet star of the year”, he will provide shows like this in the “Galaxy Georgsheil” in Lower Saxony: “The advertising master checks your suitability for a party! Anyone who hesitates, who slows down or delay the danger of its existence. The order of escalation is strictly and conspicuously issued!”
This description alone makes it clear: Niclas Mattei is a brand. As a so-called creator, he has built his own online presence. The 18-year-old is not only active on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch, but runs his own donation page on GoFundMe. “Hello. I am Niclas Mattei, the advertising master of Germany. If you want to give me money to support me in my hobby, you are welcome to do so here.” According to the current status (October 2, 2024, 2 pm), Mattei has collected 4,475 euros from 319 donations given. Their fundraising goal is 100,000 euros.
Mattei also runs her own website. “Requests for sponsorship, partnership and collaboration” can then be made. “We look forward to hearing from you and exploring collaboration opportunities together,” he says of this business area. So Mattei seems to have a team. Mattei does not make transparent how many employees work for the advertising manager. He also left an online request unanswered.
That still leaves the source of financial income through its own merchandise. Niclas Mattei offers high-visibility vests, T-shirts, jumpers and mugs in various colours, all with the “Anzeigenhauptmeister” imprint. The cheapest product is the mug for 17.99 euros, the vest and high visibility shirts cost 29.99 euros, and the jumpers cost a little less than 50 euros.
It appears to be the self-proclaimed advertising master’s latest source of income. According to the company, its products are on sale from October 1 at 6 pm For this purpose, the entrepreneur works with an online store called Lolingo. A platform known for working primarily with internet personalities and influencers.
The company has not yet answered several questions from t-online about the collaboration between Lolingo and Niclas Mattei. So it is not yet clear what exactly the conditions are – and how much money the advertising master has been able to make with his products so far.
