AEK Athens player Stevan Yelovacs has passed away

A tragedy in European basketball. Serbian actor Steban Jelovacs has died after suffering a stroke.

Jelovacs collapsed three weeks ago during the training of his team AEK Athens and has since been in critical condition until he died today (Sunday) in a hospital in Serbia to which he was transferred at the request of his family after initially being treated in a hospital in Athens.

The 32-year-old Yelovac has played for Serbia’s youth teams and also played a number of games for the senior team in the 2019 World Cup qualifiers.

During his career he has moved to Red Star Belgrade, Ritas Vilnius, Gaziantep, Saragossa, Bamberg and last season in Japan. In addition, he played 13 games in the Euroleague in the Vilnius uniform. And partnered in over 80 games in other European Cups.
