AEK did the obvious tonight in Andorra, defeating Inter d’Escaldes 4-0 and secured a spot in the third qualifying round of the Conference League with an aggregate score of 8-3.
The AEK, despite not having a good performance, managed to go into the locker room leading 1-0 and effectively ‘sealed’ the qualification early on. The hosts were better and in the 18th minute hit the post after a deflection off Hajisafi, and in the continuation of the play, Strakosha cleared De la Torre’s effort for a corner.
In the 29th minute, AEK opened the scoring thanks to the individual quality of Livai Garcia, who with a shot from outside the area sent the ball into the net. In the 43rd minute, Strakosha said ‘no’ again to De la Torre, with the ‘double-headed’ having a good chance in the last phase of the half, a shot from Jonsson which went wide.
In the second half, AEK was better, threatening with Mandalos in the 64th minute, and in the 75th minute, Matias Almeida’s team scored a second goal, with Livai Garcia, who after a pass from Hajisafi, beat the opposing goalkeeper from close range.
In the 83rd minute, Amrabat, after a through ball from Mandalos, made it 3-0, while in the 86th minute, Livai completed a hat-trick, raising the score to 4-0 after a pass from Lioumbisits.
AEK’s next opponent in the third qualifying round of the Conference League will be Noah from Armenia.
