A total of 159.2 million passengers passed through the airports in the Aena network between January and July 2023, which represents a new all-time high. This figure is 20.6% higher than that registered in the same period of 2022 and 1.2% higher than the previous highs of 2019, before the pandemic. Of the total number of travelers in July, 29.7 million corresponded to commercial passengers. Thus, 20.4 million traveled on international flights, 11.9% more than in July 2022, while 9.28 million did so on domestic flights, 6% more than last year.

The Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport registered the highest number of passengers in the seventh month of the year, with 5.54 million, which represents a growth of 10.3% compared to July last year, but 6.8% below 2019. It is followed by the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, with 4.9 million (11.4% more than in 2022 and 8.6% less than in 2019) and Palma de Mallorca, with almost 4.4 million (5.9% more).
