A Colombian Air Force aircraft crashed into an urban area of the city of Cali, near a sector of warehouses and factories. The community responded first-hand to the emergency to put out the fire that consumed the plane, which until now is known to be an instruction type, and managed to rescue a person, whose condition is unknown.

The mayor, Jorge Iván Ospina, reported that “in the vicinity of the Air Base a plane-type training aircraft fell; The incident occurred in a residential sector, to establish victims. “Citizens help in solidarity in putting out the fire and rescuing victims.”
For its part, the Colombian Air and Space Force detailed in a statement that it was a T-90 Calima FAC-2448 plane, which was on a training mission with two crew members on board and crashed around 7:10 a.m. this morning. Tuesday, October 3.

Three fire extinguishing machines, an ambulance and a fire investigation car were sent to the scene of the emergency, but upon arrival the aircraft had already been consumed by the flames, which the community first tried to put out with fire extinguishers.
“The 26th, the 8th and the 7th are closed. We ask our community not to circulate around the site. The authorities are already present. Solidarity, support and responsible citizenship is the watchword,” said Mayor Ospina on his X account (formerly Twitter) about mobility in the area.
In addition, the Secretary of Security of Cali, Jimmy Dranguet, confirmed the death of the pilot of the aircraft and the transfer of the other occupant to a care center.
